LCPC sends full-page message to Congress
Eighty percent of Congress reads Roll Call magazine, so that is where Last Chance for Patient Choice ran an ad in June 2006 explaining what the oxygen cap and competitive bidding will do to people with disabilities and Medicare beneficiaries.
The open letter to elected officials, penned by LCPC president Mike Mallaro, isn’t strident or threatening. It reframes the debate from one that has focused on the effects the Medicare Modernization Act (competitive bidding) and the Deficit Reduction Act (oxygen cap) will have on HME providers to how it will affect people who need HME and oxygen.
